The sea view was really good and rooms spacious. Everyone very friendly.

A lot of staff were trainees in the restaurant and obviously hadn't had much practice! All good though with a little patience!

Price is high for 5 star hotel.

We paid to be upgraded to a room with a sea view. Then it is worthwhile staying at this hotel. To wake up to the sea has been sheer bliss!

Location is not ideal unless you only want to laze about on the beach. It is inconvenient to get about on your own since it is far from any local activity. To have to take a taxi everywhere is kind of restrictive. Even eating options are limited as you end up paying high prices either at the hotel or restaurants near the beach.

Breakfast was great. Dinner too. Staff was also very nice and the location is directly on the water.

The room was very old. The carpet on the floor was incredible dirty. Everywhere in the lobby they smoke around even it was forbitten.

Best place for a three days out from beijing for a swim in the ocean and don´t miss old dragons head!

The sauna, I did not even realize they had one when I booked! The beach was a bit more for sightseeing and people watching than swimming or lounging, and having a sauna made up for that excellently.

Not the hotels fault, but: I didn't realize where downtown Qinhuangdao was, and going from train station to hotel to great wall it is all very industrial with more heavy machinery than people almost. When we finally found the part of town with restaurants, coffee, &c. it gave us a much better feeling for the city.

The staff was very accommodating. The wide variety of food. The beds were lovely. The entertainment was wonderful too. Enjoyed my stay very much.

No complaints or dislikes.

The band at night was great! We had such fun! The buffet food was great. Everything was good for us.

It lives up to expectations of a 5 star hotel and the staff are very helpful. The Indian restaurant was excellent. In summer the beach would have appeal, but not in the dead of winter.

For our purposes, it was too isolated being 30 minutes from the train station and more from Shanhaiguan, which the place we came to see for the Great Wall, which is highly recommended.

All hotel staff were pleasant, smiled and were very attentive.

The evening meal was rather limited to Italian or Indian dishes, could be more variety.

The concierge really didn't help us with directions to any of the sites. Seemed to think everything was close and hadn't heard of a lot of the places in our guide book.

As is so typical when travelling in China, this is a great hotel but standard of service is not five star. The typical delays with check-in, and staff in the restaurant who don't know the menu. Location by the seaside was excellent, but it's actually along way from any decent restaurant or entertainment areas. Krishna in the restaurant (Nepalese) was one of the best quality hotel/restaurant staff members we have encountered anywhere in China. He actually smiled as her served us.
